Truly Beautiful

She was born into this life as a Golden Retriever
Although, her life defined that of a ‘Golden Receiver’
Beautiful received and gave ‘limitless love’ when needed
She’d always share a kiss with those of us who pleaded
Not only was she clad in a soft golden coat of fur
Her ‘truly beautiful’ nature came from inside of her...
...then manifested outwardly in luxurious style
The posh designer of her tail went the extra mile
Then went on to color coordinate with eyelashes of gold
Beautiful was a vision for any eyes to behold.
Those close to her, knew she was an angel sent from above
She was God’s very own dog, endlessly evoking Love
She evolved on a plant-based diet from a retriever
Her new found gentleness made others a firm believer
...in the ‘mighty power’ of the ‘tempering effect
...of eating vegan and the behavior it will reflect
Not only did she stop killing, she protected pet rabbits
Keeping them safe from other dogs was one of her habits
She LOVED people and felt when they needed her healing
Holding and petting her was a pleasure-filled feeling
And my Love for her shines as bright as the light from the sun
Her beautiful example was a gift for everyone
I felt the depths of sadness when ‘Beautiful’ departed
After death, she shed a tear for those left broken-hearted
Her poignant life will never be forgotten by my heart
Of my soul and spirit, she’s inevitably, a part
I prayed to God to let her soul enter inside of me
For she was Truly Beautiful; the way I’d like to be.
