Farm Sanctuary

A non-profit organization dedicated to ending the exploitation of animals used for food production. Farm Sanctuary has shelters in California and New York where they provide life-long care for hundreds of animals rescued from factory farms, stockyards and slaughterhouses.

The Gentle Barn

They have an at-risk program that works by uniting inner city kids and at-risk youth with rescued animals. Relaying the abuse stories of the rescued animals allows the children to identify and relate to the pain of the animals. They also believe that animals, with their unconditional love and non-judgmental attitude, can often times reach kids more deeply and effectively than people can. As the children learn to love the animals, they simultaneously learn to love a part of themselves.

Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary

Their mission is to provide a safe, loving and permanent home for rescued farmed animals - not accepted at most shelters. They are also dedicated to promoting the vegan lifestyle as the most effective way to reduce suffering and exploitation of animals.

Leilani Farm Sanctuary

Leilani Farm Sanctuary is a paradise for both animals and humans. It is located on a lush 8-acre farm in Haiku, Maui. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization created to provide shelter and care for abused animals, and humane education to the community. Their goal is to awaken the compassion in every visitor. Connecting with disarmingly happy animals acting in ways one doesn't expect farm animals to act, people are inspired to take the next step toward a cruelty-free lifestyle by adopting a diet free of animals.

Animal sanctuary that provides lifetime care for many animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, cows, goats, rabbits and horses.

Maryland

Eastern Shore Sanctuary & Education Center

A sanctuary that provides a haven for hens and roosters who have escaped or been rescued from the poultry and egg industries or other abusive circumstances. In addition to sheltering and advocating for chickens, they conduct research and community education aimed at diet change and agriculture reform.

Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary

A 400 acre non profit animal sanctuary located in Poolesville Maryland. They offer care, rehabilitation and permanent sanctuary for neglected, abandoned and unwanted farm animals. They also provide protected habitat for wildlife, furnish information to the public regarding farm animal and wildlife issues and promote compassion and humane treatment for all animals.

Grateful Acres Animal Sanctuary

A sanctuary established for the purpose of providing lifetime care for animals with special needs. The animals include those who are elderly or handicapped, who have endured cruelty or neglect, or who were victims of factory farming. A secondary goal is to educate people about vegetarianism and a cruelty-free lifestyle.

SASHA Farm

SASHA (Sanctuary and Safe Haven for Animals) Farm is a farm animal sanctuary, where they give the animal residents lots of love, social interaction with others of their own species, and a sense of security.

New Dawn MT Farm Animal Sanctuary

A farm animal sanctuary and compassionate center. They promote respectful views and compassionate, loving choices through farmed animal rescue, public education and the Western Montana Vegetarian Society, to prevent cruelty to farmed animals.

New York

Catskill Animal Sanctuary

A sanctuary for abused and abandoned horses and farm animals located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in New York. They also have an educational program for schools and community groups to learn about factory farming issues and the advantages of living a vegan lifestyle.

Their shelter takes in animals that are rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
