This is the most beautiful cookbook I own. Every page has gorgeous, colorful photos or artwork and inspirational messages. They divide recipes into categories like any other cookbook, and then subdivide them into Light (Hearty Vegan), Lighter (Everyday Vegan), and Lightest (Living Foods). There is a section of sample menus for each of these categories, as well as info on Vegan philosophy, resources, etc.

I learn new ways to eat food from this cookbook every time I open it up. For instance, I didn't know you could soak raw nuts and make them "live". If you soak them long enough they will even sprout! I guess that all makes sense, but I've never even considered it before. Seeing food differently is one of the things I like most about this cookbook.

Some of the recipes are very easy and quick. Some are not and require hard to find ingredients like umeboshi paste. Some require you to plan ahead even a day or two to soak the nuts or figs. They list variations and substitutions at the bottom of recipes, which is helpful. Everything I've made has turned out well, and I've made some very tasty dishes that I have never encountered before like a soaked fig and almond dip for fruit.

This cookbook has that Wow factor and is definitely worth buying.
